Generally speaking, junk removal companies accept more items than dumpster rental companies.

A majority of junk removal companies charge a minimum rate, regardless of how small the removal job is. For example, most companies charge around $75-$125 to come out and haul away anything. For large projects, like whole-home cleanouts and hoarding jobs, then you could end up paying upwards of $2,000.
The amount of junk that needs to be removed, where the junk is located, how heavy the junk is (and whether it needs to be disassembled), and who you hire are some of the biggest factors affecting junk removal cost.
