Dumpster Rental Tips for Canton, OH
When deciding the right dumpster size for your project, one of the most important things to take into account is how much debris you will have.
It can be quite a challenge to accurately estimate demolition debris before the work is done, but you can get a good idea with this strategy:
- Measure the structure that is to be demolished and calculate the square footage.
- Determine approximately how much of each type of debris there will be (for weight purposes).
- Call a dumpster rental company with this information to get a dumpster size recommendation.
If you already did the demolition, then estimating debris is much simpler. One of the easiest visual representations of 1 cubic yard is a standard kitchen stove. Simply estimate the total amount of debris by doing a simple size comparison. If it looks like you have less than 10 stoves’ worth of debris, then a 10 yard dumpster is likely all you will need. If you have more than 10 but less than 20, go with the 20 yard dumpster (or a 15 yard if they are available).
