How much weight am I allowed to put in my container rental?
Usually, the larger the container the more weight you're allowed to load into it.
Below is a rough guide you can reference:
- 10 yard: 1-3 ton weight allowance
- 20 yard: 3 ton weight allowance
- 30 yard: 3-4 ton weight allowance
- 40 yard: 4-6 ton weight allowance

Some rental companies offer unlimited weight rental packages, although you still have to abide by the rules against overfilling the dumpster.
For instance, is often times a “fill line” painted inside the dumpster that specifies how high you can fill it.
A number of rental providers charge by how much weight you load into the bin rather than charging an upfront price.
This would be an affordable option for loading of lightweight debris, such as household trash or junk.
